Program Details:

My hope with this core learning class is to give your child a brick and mortar classroom experience in a fun and engaging way! Students will be collaborating with their peers and learning content across all curricular areas through a variety of modalities.
My second grade program is designed to support what you do at home or act as a stand alone program providing curriculum guidance ensuring an excellent foundation for your child. Our program is a 2 day program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30-11:50 am. *When you enroll your child for this class, they will automatically be enrolled the entire class time on both days. Your child is welcome to stay for a supervised lunch/recess program after class is over and join the rest of our Thrive students if you want to sign them up for additional classes in the afternoon. 
Our Core Second Grade Experience parallels a traditional second grade classroom. Some content your student can look forward to are as follows:

-Rich Literature Units
-Grammar and Vocabulary Acquisition ( Explicit Instruction and Application)
-Math Games and Sound-Offs
-Spiraled Math Content and Instruction
-Exposure to all Genres of 2nd Grade Writing through Writer's Workshop
-Weekly Read Alouds

-Novel Studies
-Literature Circles emphasizing literacy concepts and strategies
